Da Quebrada pro Mundo (DQPM) is a social-impact language school born in the outskirts of São Paulo and now active between Brazil and Europe. Through its De Quebra method, it teaches English and German to Brazilians and Brazilian Portuguese to foreigners, using literature, music, film and everyday conversation as classroom material. The idea is to treat language as a tool for work and freedom — without erasing where the learner comes from.

Alexandre Ribeiro is a writer and the founder of Da Quebrada pro Mundo. He grew up in Favela da Torre, in Diadema (SP), and lives in Berlin.

Alexandre Ribeiro is a writer, educator and founder of the school Da Quebrada pro Mundo. Born in 1998 and raised in Favela da Torre, in Diadema (SP), he started learning English while working at a hotel and years later completed his degree at Bard College Berlin on a scholarship. He is the author of Inflorescência (2019), Reservado (2019, awarded by ProAC Prosas), the novel Da Quebrada pro Mundo (2021), with a foreword by Emicida, and the bilingual book Querido Heinz (2026). He has written columns for Itaú Cultural and UOL Ecoa. He lives in Berlin, where he brings literature and language teaching together.
